Cuba:
Your Man in Havana by Ed Gray

Region Overview
The Caribbean Islands number in the hundreds, stretching from Florida in the North to Venezuela in the South. Climate is tropical with the rainy season from May to October. Temperature varies greatly according to elevation on these mountain islands.

Population is approximately 37 million with a 1.3% rate of natural increase.

Languages of most islands are predominantly that of English, French, Spanish or Portuguese colonizers. Also, slaves brought from Africa in the 18th century and, after that was abolished, indentured laborers from China, India and the East Indies created ethnically diverse populations speaking languages from around the world.

Economies have large tourism sectors, enjoy substantial US and European investment, and trade local goods such as petroleum, iron ore, sugar, coffee and banannas.
